South-south partnerships By Felix Nicolier
One of our concerns is networking and exchanging information and knowledge
between people, organizations, and countries in the South. In our view,
this can strengthen efforts to achieve sustainable development to the
extent that locally adapted solutions that have been successfully applied
in one developing country can make an important contribution in another
country with similar conditions.
All of our project partners involved in the area of sustainable land
use - namely, the agriculture ministries in Eritrea, the Halhale agricultural
research station (Eritrea) and its main partner, the Danish government
development agency (DANIDA), as well as the Syngenta Foundation and
the CDE (University of Berne) - provide this type of support for the
exchange between the two Sahel countries of Mali and Eritrea.
