Projects: Kenya
Kenya is the regional centre
for trade and finance in East Africa.
Agriculture provides one
third of the country’s income.
Our work in Kenya focuses on the Insect-Resistant Maize for
Africa Project (IRMA). The project is a partnership among
international and national public research institutions and the
private sector, with the broad-based purpose of addressing
one of the key agricultural production problems – losses from
stem borers – in one of East Africa’s most important food crops.
